FAQ

  • While I do not accept insurance at this time, I can provide Superbills for clients to send to their insurance companies for out-of-network reimbursement. The decision not to accept insurance is intentional as insurance companies require that I provide formal diagnoses to clients and often times restrict the number of sessions allowed. I understand that diagnoses are helpful for some clients, but it goes against my personal code of ethics to unnecessarily label clients with a disorder that will be on their permanent record.

Because I do not accept insurance, I am happy to offer sliding scale reduced rates to select clients on an as needed basis. Please feel empowered to communicate your budget to me in our initial meeting with each other.

  • I offer teletherapy via phone call or Zoom sessions (whichever the client prefers).

I also offer in-person sessions via Walk and Talk Therapy at Auditorium Shores Park 900 W Riverside Dr Austin, TX 78704

  • We will meet at Auditorium Shores Park located at 900 W Riverside Dr Austin, TX 78704. I will wait for you at the brick bathrooms directly next to the parking lot. I encourage you to arrive early enough to ensure you can find parking. If you zoom in on your map you will see a blue 'P' indicating parking right next to the park. You are also welcome to find your own parking wherever you feel most comfortable.

I recommend wearing clothing that you feel comfortable being outdoors and moving your body in. I also recommend bringing your own water bottle.

Once you have parked, if you are having a hard time locating me, don't hesitate to call or text me.

  • Sessions will last approximately 53 minutes. This is to give me enough cushion time in between clients. If you feel that additional time would be beneficial for you, we can increase session length at a pro-rated amount or increase frequency of sessions. We will collaborate together to determine what works best for you.

  • This answer is unique to each client and dependent on your personal therapeutic goals. In my experience, most clients are seen at a weekly frequency for about 3-4 months and as they make progress will scale back to bi-weekly/monthly. I have worked with some clients who have achieved their goals in 4-6 sessions, and I have other clients that have ebbed and flowed with frequency of therapy and have been attending for years. There is no hard and fast rule and I empower my clients to continue their therapeutic work for however long it is feeling beneficial for them.

  • I want to acknowledge that finding a new therapist or starting therapy for the first time can feel overwhelming and scary. There is likely a lot of therapy-speak jargon that you have seen out there and it can get confusing when you are sifting through all of the therapist options. While seeking a clinician with a particular type of training/approach is important to some, I encourage you to prioritize finding a therapist that you have a sense of safety and connection with. A great way to determine this is by taking advantage of the free consultations that most therapists offer. If what you have seen on my page so far resonates with you, I want to invite you to connect with me by clicking the 'ready to get started' button below.

If you do not feel that we are the right fit for therapeutic services, I would recommend visiting psychologytoday.com to search for other providers in your area. Regardless if you choose me as your therapist or not, please know that I am rooting for you.
